Having spent much of my adult life living on the moors of Yorkshire, it is an area to which I frequently return for inspiration. The Pennines that straddle Yorkshire and Lancashire are often shrouded in mist so that the land and sky become blurred: a literal and physical Blurring of Edges.
I like to use oil paints. Using a limited palette, I mix the colours that I see, so from that point of view my paintings could more accurately be called colour studies.
I also like to return to the same spot at the side of the road, high up on the moors, where it is often wild and windy.
